    Food for Thought: Fera’s Science in a Changing Landscape

    This free, in person event includes keynote talks from Sir Tim Smit - Co-founder of Eden Project on day 1 and Professor Gideon Henderson - Chief Scientific Adviser at the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) on day two.

    Sessions on Day 1 of the symposium will focus on the theme, Driving Towards Sustainable Agriculture and Net Zero, with talks from:

    Professor Neil Boonham, Chair of Applied Crop Science at Newcastle University
    Staff and PhD students from Fera Science and Newcastle University
    Sessions on Day 2 of the symposium will focus on the themes. Food Safety and Food Waste and Trade, Borders & Biosecurity, with talks from:
    Professor Lorand Bartels, Chair of the Trade and Agriculture Commission (TAC),
    Nigel Jenney, CEO of Fresh Produce Consortium
    Jyoti Banerjee, Co-founder of North Star Transition
    Joel Scott-Halkes, Campaigns Director at RePlanet
    Professor Simon Edwards, Plant Pathology at Harper Adams University,
    Professor Louise Manning, Sustainable Agri Food Systems at University of Lincoln,
    Lisa Smith, Head of Tree Health Policy & Plant Health Evidence & Analysis at Defra
